Eco dyed wool and cashmere using eucalyptus leaves, artwear hand knits and scarves.
Geckostrands has grown out of a passion for Australian eucalypts and textiles. The process of natural eco dyeing and my art teaching experience became the basis to create geckostrands. I create scarves, and hand knitted art objects that can be worn. Collecting leaves in Tasmania’s Huon Valley, where my studio is situated, using the water, the seasons and collecting the relics of past times. The scarves emerge from a process of design, placement and brewing. The alchemy of nature produces fine wool and cashmere objects of desire.

Thru balancing tailored garments with oversized and loosely draped pieces she creates a juxtaposition that is the core of the H Fredriksson aesthetic. With a sense of past and present, the designer’s belief in traditional craft as well as in a future of new sustainable fabric technologies is marked in the mindful fabric choices of the collection. Women's social wear with a social conscious.
Rooted in a childhood dream and whispered to awaken the creativity…Hopeless + Cause Atelier was realized in 2015.
I’m a HOPELESS fanatic of fashion. I’m a HOPELESS believer that everything happens for a reason and you should use it to drive or inspire you. And, because I’m human, I feel HOPELESS at times so I give others hope to be who they are meant to be. Life is filled with CAUSE & effect. What if there was a fashion line that supported: livable wages, eco-friendly & social-economic practices, and gave back? Now wouldn’t that be a CAUSE to get behind…and just think of that effect. Hopeless + Cause Atelier creates bespoke fashion for woman who want to have an impact.
