Be fabulous from the inside. It’s who you are.
How long have you been in business?
Just over 5 years.
How did you come up with the name of your company?
Sutter and Larkin are two streets in San Francisco. On that corner, I “failed” as a designer. 20 years later, I was discovered as a designer.
What does “sustainable fashion” mean to you?
Having as little of an impact on the planet as much as possible.
What is your company’s mission?
Inspire people to accept and love who they are and celebrate their individuality.
Who is your customer?
Individuals who want to celebrate their own personal style and who have an appreciation for handcrafted garments.

What is something you wish people knew about sustainable fashion?
It’s not all granola and crunchy. The industry is evolving and more and more designers are creating fashionable and stylish looks while taking care of the earth.
What’s the most challenging thing about running a sustainable business?
Educating people on the process so they understand the costs.
Is there someone who inspires you and why?
Amal Clooney. She’s amazing: intelligent, poised, stylish and making a difference in this world. I believe in the future because of women like her.
Other than your own, which sustainable fashion brands do you like?
There’s a designer in San Francisco, Sarah Liller. She would take old table linens and turn them into stylish, fashionable dresses, tops or shorts. The boutique she worked out of has closed and I’ve lost touch with her. My only regret is that I never got one of her pieces.
Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you or your company?
I’m super excited to be launching my Women’s Winter Collection, Winter Zen, on OCT 1st on Etsy. It’s Bohemian, sophisticated casual. I’ve taken my best selling designs from the last 5 years and cranked up the creative approach. I can’t wait to share!
